APRIL 5, 2013 -- On Saturday, April 27, 2013, the seven Granges in Excelsior Pomona #7 District Grange will be holding a tag sale to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank, to take place at the hall of Oxford Grange #194 at 482 Oxford Rd. (CT Rte. 67) in the center of Oxford. A variety of items will be available for sale. Those coming to the sale are encouraged to bring an item of canned or boxed food that can be donated to the local Seymour/Oxford Food Bank.
Last year’s event in Oxford was well attended and raised over $300 for the American Liver Foundation. Similar events held across the state in the other eight Pomona districts all on the same day raised a total of almost $2000, all of which was donated to the ALF. This year, the Connecticut Food Bank was chosen as the recipient organization as the Grange in Connecticut continues to help feed the hungry of our state. Sponsored by the Connecticut State Grange, similar events will once again be held across the state on the 27th of April.
Established in 1867, the Grange is a nonpartisan and nonprofit fraternal organization. It is the oldest agricultural and rural community service organization. Please come to the tag sale to support our project to help feed the hungry, and to find out what the Grange is all about. |
