APRIL 2, 2013 -- We hope all who attended our Silent Movie night back on March 16th enjoyed themselves watching the comedy of Charlie Chaplin. It was a fun evening for everyone to watch the vintage film and to hear an original piano score played on our equally vintage piano by Cannon member, John Mucci.
Our Fair committee has begun work planning for this year’s fair which will the 81st event on Sunday, August 18th. The Hall will be decked out as usual as an Exhibition Hall for the large number of contested entries in horticulture and agriculture, homemaking, crafts and photography.
Our Grange worked closely with the local Police Department to apply for and gain approval for a Pedestrian Crosswalk from the front of our Hall to the historic Cannondale Village directly across the road. We were delighted to hear that the police commissioners gave their approval, and once the weather moderates the lines will be painted and the signs will be set in place. What could be a better community service project than this.
It’s been a couple of years since we last hosted a Neighbors’ Night dinner. We’re having one on Thursday, April 18th with dinner being served at 6 PM. RSVPs are due by April 12th.
