MARCH 1, 2013 -- Celebrate “Heirloom Day” at the Winter Farmers Market at the Norfield Grange on Saturday, March 2, from 10 to 2. Meet the market’s farmers, gourmet food vendors and crafters.
The market features farm-fresh seasonal fruit and produce, honey, maple syrup, eggs, meats, seafood, baked goods, plants, and gift ideas.
This week, learn about “heirloom” vegetables, fruit and eggs which are all locally grown. There will be purple carrots, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head potatoes, and brown, white, red, and green eggs.
There is a “Best Heirloom” contest. Bring something with monetary or sentimental value that has belonged to your family for several generations. Have your picture taken at the market with your heirloom.
