Glastonbury Grange News for February

By Jean Accornero

  FEBRUARY 5, 2013 --

The Holiday Season will be over when you read this, but I’m happy to report that our Grange collected 90 books and gave them to the Social Service Department for their list of children.

We had our Christmas Dinner Party at a local restaurant this year.  I hope everyone enjoyed their meal.  We had 16 in attendance.

One of our loyal members passed away recently.  Barbara Pennington was secretary of our Grange for many years, until she retired at almost 90 years of age.  Failing eyesight and driving from Colchester for each meeting became hard so she had to stop coming.  She was a lovely lady and will be missed.

Many suggestions have been proposed for a fundraiser this spring, but no decisions have been made yet.  A spaghetti supper, a cookbook, selling greeting cards were all suggested, and every single one of these projects require a lot of work.  So, each member should be willing to do their part to make them a success.

Hope to see you at a meeting in the near future.

Feb. 7:  Meeting, 7:30 P.M.  “Be My Valentine” - program.  Ref. Bob and Doris Nordstrom, Jeannine Carini.
