DECEMBER 21, 2012 -- On Saturday, Dec. 15, Laura McDonald, a Weston resident and a kindergarten teacher in Newtown, was the lucky winner of the Christmas tree raffle at the Winter Farmers’ Market at the Norfield Grange in Weston.
Last weekend, the market collected more than $400 from market vendor fees and donations for the Sandy Hook Elementary PTSA (Parent, Teacher, Student Association) Fund. The market will continue to collect each week and make additional donations.
This Saturday, Dec. 22, from 10 to 2, Santa and the Grange cow will be at the market at the grange, and they are available for pictures with young and old.
Available at the market are farm-fresh seasonal produce and herbs, jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, cheese and yogurt, eggs, beef and pork, poultry, seafood, baked goods, live plants, soap and body products, gift ideas, and more.
Back by popular demand will be guest chef Amie Guyette Hall, whipping up her “Cacao Cow Girl Chocolate” concoctions of bark, brownies, macaroons, and more.
Market goers may also enter a raffle for a “Market Potpourri Basket.” Receive one ticket for every item purchased at the market or buy three for $1.
The indoor farmers’ market is at the Norfield Grange every Saturday through May 4.
