NOVEMBER 29, 2012 -- On Saturday, December 1 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Winter Farmers’ Market at Norfield Grange at 12 Good Hill Road in Weston will hold its first farmers’ market of the 2012-2013 season. The farmers’ market, nestled warmly inside the historic Grange, has become a weekly social gathering for friends and families in Weston and surrounding communities, as well as visitors from afar.
To celebrate opening day, the Winter Farmers’ Market at Norfield Grange will host Runabout Farm, offering a petting zoo and pony rides for children of all ages. Animals will be at the farmers’ market this Saturday from 10am until 2pm offering rides, snuggles, and picture pictures with their fans. Kids and adults are invited to stop by, meet the animals, and ask questions about the farm and animal rescue.
When you make a purchase from any of the vendors, you automatically receive a raffle ticket for a beautiful, fresh 6′ to 7′ balsam fir, which has been graciously donated by Weston Gardens. If you would like to purchase additional raffle tickets, they are available for $1 for 3 tickets. On December 15, they will be drawing the winner at the close of the market at 2:00pm.
At the Winter Farmers’ Market at Norfield Grange guests can purchase farm fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup, goats milk cheese and yogurt, handmade soap and body products, natural beef and pork, wild-caught seafood, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, live plants, and more. Visit the Crafters’ Corner to support local artisans with beautiful hand-knit hats, hair accessories, boxwood wreaths and trees, fresh cut flowers, artwork, pottery, jewelry, and much more! The Market is open every Saturday through May 4, from 10am to 2pm at the Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road, Weston, CT 06883.
