SEPTEMBER 2, 2012 -- The September 15th Tag Sale, October 5th Super Prize Party and the October 9th program titled "A Colorful Month" opens a new year of programs and activities at Winchester Grange. The Grange year runs from October 2012 through September 2013. Winchester Grange will also be commemorating its 125th Anniversary throughout 2013 with a series of special events.
Ramona Fassio, the Lecturer/Program Coordinator for Winchester Grange has a full year of programs planned, with Country Stores, Potluck Suppers and Neighbor's Nights sprinkled throughout the year among the Grange's popular events, like the Strawberry Festival and Grange Fair and Flea Market. Winchester Grange meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Grange Hall on the Green in Winchester Center.
Other upcoming Winchester Grange events include a Community Halloween Party on October 23rd, and the popular Holiday Bazaar and Cookie Walk on November 3rd.
Formed January 2, 1888, the Grange is one of the largest Community Granges east of the Mississippi River in membership, and is extremely active in the Winchester Center community, holding numerous programs and events year-round.
Getting to Winchester Center: From Winsted, take Route 263 to the Winchester Center green. From Torrington, take Newfield Road (at the corner of Winsted Rd. and N. Main St.) to the Winchester Center green. The Grange Hall is located at 100 Newfield Road.
