Winchester Grange to celebrate American Indian Heritage Month
  AUGUST 12, 2012 --

Winchester Grange will be celebrating American Indian Heritage Month at their next meeting, to be held on August 14th at 7:30 PM at the Grange Hall, 100 Newfield Road, Winchester Center, CT.  The community is invited to attend.

The program will feature Wendy Lemieux as our guest speaker. She will be showing Indian crafts, such as drum, rattles, and pottery, and will be discussing the history behind each item. There will also be a country store and refreshments following the program.

Getting to Winchester Center: From Winsted, take Route 263 to the Winchester Center green. From Torrington, take Newfield Road (at the corner of Winsted Rd. and N. Main St.) to the Winchester Center green.  Winchester Grange is located at 100 Newfield Road.

Formed January 2, 1888, the Grange is one of the largest Community Granges east of the Mississippi River in membership, and is extremely active in the Winchester Center community, holding numerous programs and events year-round.
