| JULY 6, 2012 -- We are thrilled to have THREE 75 year certificates to be presented July 22nd: Doris I. Frink, Esther Jalkanen and Edith Remington! Also 65 year seal to Vincent Scarpino; 55 year seals to Harry Baum, Marie Exley and Ronald Coty; 50 year certificates to Leroy Ducat, Robert Kinne, Joseph Shiman Jr. and Charles Thurlow! Wow a total of 655 years of Grange membership and service! Scholarships will also be presented at this event!
The festivities will begin with a meal at 1:00 PM.
At our June meeting we welcomed back Colin and Katrina Sebastian; they are home for the summer from college. Great seeing these two aspiring young folks!
The Youth Drill Team offered to become Grange janitors. They will clean monthly, with the janitorial fee going into the Drill Account. It wad voted to eliminate our Board of Directors and have instead a FOUR member Executive Committee.
Katie Molodich will be installed President in September. Other changes include: Vice President: Link Cooper; Program Director: Clifford Gervais; As’t Steward: J. Allen Cameron; Chaplain: Susan Griffiths; Greeter: Jake Gervais and Executive Committee: Jody Cameron; Russell Gray; David Griffiths and Mike Molodich.
We enjoyed a roast beef supper prior to Junes’ Deputy visit by Jim Palmer, Deputy East and hs wife, Pat. Refreshments included a Congratulations Graduates cake for Brandi Hawkins, Katie Hermonot and Katie Molodich.
Katie H. was at UCONN taking a summer course, Brandi was working, but Katie Molodich was present.
The Youth Drill Team is enthusiastic and diligently preparing for the competition on July 15th at the Big E!
We have neighbored with Richmond, RI and Old Lyme Grange: good friends!
Six of us attended the dedication of the Home for Homeless Veterans in Jewett City, having received an invitation as a contributing donor.
We have busy summer plans at Ekonk: plan to come on down and join the fun!
