Winchester Grange March News Update

By Todd Gelineau, Winchester Grange President

  MARCH 9, 2012 --

And winter rolls on... with no new developments in the Winchester Grange boiler room!  After a few hiccups following its installation, the new equipment is running perfectly and saving the Grange a good deal of money with greater fuel efficiency.

Work is now progressing in the kitchen with new plumbing/pumps being installed under the watchful eye of the Torrington Area Health District.  We were advised not to install a handwashing sink as our current 4 bay sink is now considered adequate.  This will give a great savings to our budget!  We continue to look for a commercial refrigerator to replace our relatively new non-commercial models (a requirement of TAHD).

Looking ahead... Winchester will host the Pomona School of Instruction on Saturday, March 24 at 1 P.M.

Also on March 24, Winchester will host its first Cabin Fever Craft and Bake Sale from 9 AM - 2 PM.  Vendors spaces are available by calling Sue Addison at 860-379-0210.

In April, Winchester will be conferring all four degrees on a new member and invite all Granges to bring candidates.  Please call the Master at 860-626-0326 or e-mail info@winchestergrange.org if you plan on participating so the additional materials for the degrees can be arranged.
