MARCH 1, 2012 -- The public is invited to attend a program at Cheshire Grange featuring a presentation on hot air balloons by Erwin Dressel of Castle View Balloons on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The program will start at 7:30 PM at the Grange Hall, 44 Wallingford Road, Cheshire. It is in conjunction with the Committee on Women's Activities theme "Still Soaring."
This program is family friendly and will be of interest to both adults and children. There is no charge for admission. The presentation will be followed by a Teacup Auction and refreshments.
Erwin Dressel, owner of Castle View Balloons of Cheshire, Connecticut, has been ballooning since 1990. He began piloting in 1995, and received his FAA certification as a Commercial Hot Air Balloon Pilot in 1998. He is a member of the CLAS (Connecticut Lighter than Air Society) and participates annually in a number of local balloon competitions.
According to Castle View Balloons' website (www.CastleViewBalloons.com), "both the balloon and basket are inspected every 100 flight hours or once a year by an FAA certified balloon service representative following a comprehensive checklist authored by the balloon manufacturer and certified by the FAA. "
