Ekonk Community Junior Grange February Update

By Rebecca Gervais

  FEBRUARY 1, 2012 --

Ekonk Junior had a BUSY Holiday season.   We had a table at our subordinate’s Bazaar.  Emily, Maria, and Victoria taught any interested peoples how to make a 3-D snowflake!  We also sold baked goods.

We had MANY rehearsals for our Christmas play which was held on the 9th.  The play was a musical and titled, “A Place in the Christmas Choir”.   Almost 100 people, total, came for this event! How cool is that?  We had a young cast.  Our ages ranged from 3 to 12, most were 6-8.  Pretty impressive that kids that young can memorize a part and say it in front of such a huge audience!

We, along with the subordinates, “adopted” a family from Sterling for Christmas.  Jeans, shirts, socks, a toy, candy, items for Mom, gloves, hats, a $50.00 Wal-Mart card, and a $50.00 Big Y card were donated.  We also helped fill 2 baskets for local seniors who could use the extra food.

On Feb. 3rd, the GIRLS are in charge of the program.  It is sure to be an interesting night!  Why not come and visit us?  We’d like to see you.
