At this year’s International Association of Fairs & Expositions (IAFE) Convention in Las Vegas, NV, Hamburg Fair in Lyme, CT came home with 9 awards out of the 16 entered.  Hamburg Fair was the only fair from Connecticut to receive awards. 

The fair falls in Division 1, which is attendance up to 100,000 with over 1,000 entries per category.  The fair placed first in the Consumer Protection Program, second in Printed Material, second in Non-Fair Agricultural Event, third in Green Program, third in Competitive Exhibit Display, and fourth in the following categories:  Agriculture Photo, Agriculture Photo Series, New or Unique Class of Competitive Exhibits and General Display Photo.

President Ted Powell stated that the reason the fair does so well is that it takes a team effort to work on putting the entries together and coming up with the ideas.
