Meriden Grange Fair wins Local Grange Premium Book Contest

The Association of Connecticut Fairs semi-annual Fall meeting was held Saturday, November 19th, culminating with a banquet at the end of a busy day.  After the start of the banquet: report of the Tea-Cup Auction/Assoc. of CT Fairs Scholarship Fund, and contests sponsored by the Association were presented.  The Meriden Grange Fair won first place for this year's Premium Book.  

The first place award was won under the Local Fairs category.  The Meriden Grange Fair received a twenty-five dollar check and a Certificate of Award for its Premium Book which best represents and promotes its Fair and contests.  Members from Meriden Grange No. 29, 540 Broad Street, were present to receive the check and certificate.  This is the first time that Meriden Grange Fair received First Place in this annual contest.

Meriden Grange No. 29 has sponsored the Meriden Grange Fair for the past 82 years.  It is held on the first Saturday after Labor Day every September.  Meriden Grange is a Community Service organization with roots in agriculture, and has been an active Grange for more than 125 years.  New members are welcome.
