NOVEMBER 17, 2011 -- On November 11, 2011, Granby Grange members and a few guests met at the Grange Hall to enjoy a Barbecue Spare Rib and Pot Luck Dinner, Veterans Day Program and Thanksgiving recognition. The spare ribs were available in a large portable cooker while the pot luck part included a delicious coleslaw, scalloped potatoes, several salads, sweet potato prepared with brown sugar and deserts of Blueberry pie, decorated cake, a pineapple cottage cheese dish and cookies.
The Veterans Day celebration consisted of a red, white and blue candle lighting ceremony with a verse entitled “I am an American” read as each candle was lit.
The Thanksgiving portion of the evening included gifts for each Veteran present, thank you gifts for Grangers who helped with advancement in Grange instruction, shirts for Grangers who helped new members and recognition of a member for ensuring Grange procedures were followed. The members present enjoyed the evening and look forward to more similar meetings. |
