SEPTEMBER 6, 2011 -- Now is the time to start planning your entries of championship flowers, fruits, vegetables and more as Hillstown Grange will hold its annual Agricultural Fair Saturday, September 10, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Grange Hall, 617 Hills St., East Hartford.
Prizes will be awarded in a variety of public-entered categories, including needlework, flowers, crafts, hobbies, vegetables, baked goods, jams and jellies, as well as special contests for tallest sunflower measured from root to flower (neither need to be attached) and biggest butternut squash by weight. Entries for judging must be submitted at the Grange Hall on Friday, September 9, between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
