JUNE 5, 2011 -- Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July.
We presented the children of Cherry Brook Elementary School their dictionaries. There were 141 third graders this year. We love to get the notes and pictures from them, they are quite talented!
Last month we did cinnamon pancakes in a jar to present to the Food Bank recipients. We did an assembly line and things went very smoothly.
Art Rote was in the hospital again in May for double hernia but he is doing much better now and is home. Feel better Art! We all miss you.
Linea, Chris and I attended the Mystery Dinner and what a great time we had. Lots of Laughs. The meal was a riot, some people chose olives, celery, cupcake, potato, green beans, but NO utensils! You had 3 courses, and eventually got the chicken. The meal was delicious, which included Joanne Cipriano’s homemade cole slaw which was “out of this world.” Betty Jane Gardiner from Simsbury, was in the play “The Missing Emeralds” and she was so funny, she played the senile grandmother. EVERYONE was excellent!
This month we will have a new scholarship recipient.
Our May project for food bank was little cakes with patriotic color for Memorial Day. Hope your summer is good. We will be meeting in July!
August will be our picnic at Sister Lin’s!
