JANUARY 27, 2011 -- The Preston City Grange has launched a cookbook fundraiser to support the St. Vincent de Paul Place soup kitchen in downtown Norwich.
The grange on Friday dropped off 40 copies of "The Tattered Page Cookbook," containing both basic and unusual recipes at the soup kitchen, 10 Railroad Place, behind Main Street, in Norwich.
The booklets, printed by students at Norwich Technical High School, sell for $5 with proceeds going to St. Vincent de Paul Place.
The book starts with "the original recipe for ice soup," by Patrick McGowan, who compiled recipes for the book. Take your favorite soup cup, add several ice cubes, fill with tap water and drink.
"Under no circumstances, never, salt nor pepper." |
