Hillstown Grange to host Corned Beef Dinner
  MARCH 14, 2011 --

Come and enjoy a "family style" dinner as Hillstown Grange No. 87 hosts their Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Saturday, March 26, 2011.

The dinner will be held at 6:00 PM at Hillstown Grange Hall, 617 Hills St. East Hartford.  The cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10.  Plan early to order your ticket because this event sells out quickly.  Take-outs will also be available upon request.

Dinner is the traditional corned beef and cabbage with all the trimmings, including potatoes, carrots, dessert and coffee/tea.

Founded in 1867, the Grange is the nation's oldest general farm organization.  It has historically been an advocate for rural quality of life issues, farm programs, rural economic development, environmental and consumer issues, and similar topics.  Yet the Grange organization has evolved with the times.  Health care, education, the importance of food safety, locally grown and produced foods, and communications access are just a few of the Grange's current areas of involvement, as well as legislation designed to assure strong and viable communities.

Hillstown Grange No. 87 is comprised of families and individuals who share a common interest in community involvement, agriculture, and working together in a family environment and has been serving the Hillstown area of East Hartford, Manchester, and Glastonbury for over 100 years.
