MARCH 2, 2011 -- Jared Duval will talk about his book, Next Generation Democracy: What the Open Source Revolution Means for Power, Politics, and Change, on Wednesday, March 2, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Norfield Grange, 12 Goodhill Road, Weston.
Learn about the “Millennium Generation” and what it is doing to change democracy.
Participants are asked to bring a small nibble to share; donations are optional. With a $25 donation, attendees will receive an autographed copy of Mr. Duval’s book.
All proceeds go to the Weston Food Pantry.
Mr. Duval is a fellow with the New York-based think tank Demos, where he is helping to build a first-of-its-kind fellowship program for young authors.
From 2005 to 2007, he served as national director of the Sierra Student Coalition (SSC), the national student chapter of the Sierra Club and the largest student environmental organization in America. During this time he helped build the Energy Action Coalition and the Campus Climate Challenge campaign’
Mr. Duval also serves on the national board of directors for the Sierra Club and the board of trustees of the Orton Family Foundation. A recipient of the David Brower Youth Award and of Morris K. Udall and Harry S. Truman scholarships, he graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 2005. |
