SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 -- Elnora “Ellie” L. Olin, 79, of Granby, beloved wife of the late Donald A. Olin, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, to the late Harold and Maude (Smith) Case. She was a Simsbury resident for many years before moving to Granby in 1949.
Ellie was the Assistant Manager of the Executive Dining Room at CIGNA for 17 years before becoming the chef for Fitzgerald Supermarket in Simsbury.
A member of the Granby Grange #5, the Granby Senior Citizens, and AARP, she regularly shared her talent for cooking with others, often volunteering for the soup kitchen in Westfield.
She will be greatly missed by all, including her son, Darwin “Chris” Stanhope and his wife Deborah, of Simsbury; her grandchildren, Ryan Stanhope and Stacy Kechejian and her husband Jeff; her brother, Arlow Case of Granby; her sister, Priscela Stafford of Granby; and many loving nieces and nephews.
