| MAY 12, 2010 -- Mrs. Karen Tartell of Washington Post Drive, Darien, a member of Wilton's Cannon Grange #152, took First Place in the annual Baking Contest, held at the Grange, on May 6, 2010.
The recipe for "Calico Muffins" was selected and sponsored by the Connecticut State Grange.
The sweet muffin contained shredded carrot, pineapple and raisins with vanilla extract for additional flavoring.
Mrs. Tartell will compete next at the state level of the contest in July with other First Place winners from other Granges across Connecticut.
