Riverton Grange mourns loss of Dot O'Connor

Dorothy L. O'Connor, (Dot), 75, of Wallens Hill Road died suddenly Dec. 8, 2009, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the wife of Robert P. O'Connor.

Born in Winsted April 15, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Martha (Roraback) and Henry Rebillard. She had lived in Winsted all of her life. Prior to her retirement she worked as a secretary at the First Church of Winsted, a bookkeeper at the former Hartford Trust Co. and at the school lunch program at Greenwoods School. She was a Golden Sheaf member of Riverton Grange, member of the First Church of Winsted, the Auxilliary for Community Health and the Winchester Historical Society and a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1952. She was also very active in the Riverton Fair and the Connecticut Agricultural Fair.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Langill and her companion, Daniel LaMere, of Winsted; a son, Kyle O'Connor and his wife, Alison, of Lynnfield, Mass.; a twin sister, Ruth Rebillard of Winsted; and three grandchildren, Alexis LaMere, Devin O'Connor and Quinn O'Connor. She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Geddes.

Funeral services were held Dec. 12 from Maloney Funeral Home to First Church of Winsted. Burial will be at Forest View Cemetery in the spring.
